Hey folks,
I'm planning a week trip to Baja this Jan/Feb, and I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of good resources for surf-related travel info (i.e. places to stay, good spots, places to avoid, etc). Any info would be helpful.
thanks in advance...

Re: Baja
Sat, January 20, 2007 - 11:48 PMBaja is a long strip of surf adventure, bumpy roads, minimal gas stations, and cows. Good luck. So, I guess the question is: how far South do you plan on going?
I know the first 100KM very well and I could offer lots of advice..... But, you may just be breezing right past all this.... through Ensenada in 2 hours.....
Be sure to go down the steep road at Salsipudeds (~KM 77) and check out the surf. Excellent peak in the rocky bay below, crazy right hand peeler off the southern point (only on the right swell). Good cheap camping. This may be the last year of pristine rugged terrain because natural gas facilities and developments are coming soon.....
Salsipuedes means "get out if you can". If it looks like rain, you'd better have a 4x4 to drive out. I've been stuck in 6" mud for days....
Have fun! Don't stress. Eat lots of fish tacos! AND... remember to return your glass beer bottles (save the receipt and the bottles) for a few extra dollars (to fund those tacos).
